Do your family sometimes make it harder for you to lose weight? My husband treats it all as a bit of a joke, he knows it is important to me, but he just keeps reassuring me that I look good as I am, etc. (I don't) and if he eats something 'wicked' he always gets some for me too. My mum is wonderful but she seems to think she has to feed everyone until they burst. I politely refuse, but she just keeps think of other things that I could eat!

My family is in a small way part of the problem (although in the big picture it is my will power that is the bigger issue).

This is because my family always has lots of sweets in the house and with my sweet tooth it is not easy to resist them......

Definitely, but not in the way you get affected. My problem is that my brother is very fit and no matter how much he eats, he never seems to gain weight! So if he's eating something I get tempted more.

My family is very supportive. I never had problems with bad jokes or different treatment (except for the food.. )
My sister is realy thin, and she can eat and eat and she seems to never get fat. I am a bit jealous, but this is how she is, it's not her fault. And in spite of this, she never said anything to hurt my feelings, she was as supportive as she can be :)

Sometimes they do, not always, but sometimes.
At first they were not al all ok with the idea. They always said dieting is not healthy, that i may destroy my body and so on.. but now they seem to let me do it because they understand how important it is for me to look good..

No, my family is not part of the problem. As I stated in another thread, they don't really get involved in my decision to lose weight, they are neutral about it. I try to have a strong will and not be temped if they sometimes buy sweets for themselves, but I'm not going to ask them to hide the food they buy from me because it sound a little weird even to me...

I have to say that I am the one to be blamed, in the end no one shoved the food down my throat. Still in my family we are used to eat a lot of fatty meals and my mother is a genius when it comes to cakes. She's making the most delicious ones when she wants to spoil us a bit. I was also getting involved with this cooking and now it kinda shows.
