I like to drink soda, but it has too much sugar for me. On the other hand, diet soda does not have sugar. But it has E derivatives which come from the artificial sweeteners. These drinks are generally marketed towards "health-conscious" people, but a recent study shows that people who drink diet soft drinks don't lose weight. In fact, they gain weight! How is this possible?

Diet soda doesn't have quite the same taste as the regular one. That's a big minus for me...:p. And there are rumors about cancerigenic effects of these sweeteners they use. The risk of obesity is even higher when you're drinking diet soft drinks, because they cause metabolism disorders. ( too much energy but no calories). I'd go for fresh natural juices.

In terms of flavour I prefer the diet to the ordinary soda, but I don't drink it very often as I have a bowel condition and it upsets me. I have read that carbonated drinks (even diet ones) can damage our teeth, so I drink water most of the time.

I would much prefer regular soda over diet, because the diet tastes too sweet, probably because of the artificial ingredients. In any case, I drink juice more often than I drink soda and I think that's a healthier option.

I prefer diet to regular and I can certainly tell the difference between brands. I try not to drink too much because it may not have many calories but it contains artificial sweeteners and all sorts of additives that I would rather avoid. I am trying to drink more water these days.

I don't like the taste of diet soda. I'd rather not drink soda at all if I were to chose... Yes, I've also heard that carbonated drinks (diet or not) can damage our teeth, but I've read an article a couple of months ago that simply gave me hope for a better future: a future without cavities or damaged teeth. According to the Canadian researchers from the University of Alberta, in a few years we'll be able to regrow our teeth in a matter of weeks: http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/30/new-low-intensity-pulsed-ultrasound-device-helps-re-grow-teeth/ . Sorry if this might sound a bit off topic, but I thought it was much too cool not to share. :D

Wow, when do you think we'll ever stop being surprised by new technological advancements? Anyway, even if that becomes available, it would probably be expensive, so folks, hold off on the drinks for now. ;)

I drink it.. It's not the healthiest thing in the world, but it's better than normal soda :)
Of course, any soda is bad for the teeth, so i try not to overdo it.. but occasionally i like to take a sip.

Of course i like soda :)
I love carbonated uices.. and with diet soda i can be a lot happier knowing that it's.. diet coke and not regular coke.
I often have it in my fridge and even if i drink a lot of natural juice now, i occasionally drink diet soda :)
