News reports recently have publicised some research that suggests that people who are 'apple shaped' (carrying more weight around their abdomen) are more at risk from the some of the dangers of excess weight than those people who are 'pear shaped' (with weight around their hips and thighs). Do you think such messages are confusing, after all it is better for all of us to manage our weight and have a healthy diet whatever our body shape.

Oh.. i don't know.. I think it depends on the persons organism, really.
There are tons of studies, but i think thet there are plenty of exceptions.
I for one cannot relly only on some studies. I need to know the real thing, something proven for my body only.

Well, I must say I don't really understand the differentiation. What if a person is fat in both areas, and how would you tell that you're more one thing than the other?

I don’t know about this because all I know is that whenever you are overweight your body is force to carry those extra pounds around you. This isn’t a good thing in our back and may cause it to weaken. I think that we should strengthen our back by developing muscles around our abdomen.
