How often do you use ankle weights when you workout? For which exercises?
I don't use them often, but when I do, they are usually for leg lift exercises...

I remember back on my college days, I used them whenever I will go on jogging. That is when I’m not fat and still looks fine. Now, I think that I will have to go back to jogging without the ankle weights because I couldn’t jog as far as I used to do.

Ankle weights should be used with GREAT care since they can sometimes damage the feet and hand articulations. Still they are sometimes fun to use since they make the workout more serious and thus the results can be better. It's good to be careful though, so that there won't be damages to the knees and other articulations which can be quite sensible. It also depends on each of us, some people are more inclined to get injured, others need more workout since they are stronger built.

I think that ankle weights should only be used when you already been doing a certain exercise for a long time so that the injuries can be avoided. We must know when we can use them and if we are stronger enough to do it. This is the mistakes that some are doing, they are just forcing themselves to the extent of having some injury.

I know that some atletes are adding the ankle weight if they feel that they are making a progress on their exercise program. They said that adding this really depends on you, don't add them because someone tell you to add them. They aren't the one who will be forcing their body to their limit.
