Do you exercise when you are sick?

I am just getting over a bad cold. I did not exercise at all while I have been sick. I wonder if it would be worth it to try to do a couple sit ups or push ups even if sick, or if it is better to just rest, and catch up on working out when the cold is gone.

What do you think?

I never done it before ad I think that I will never do it on the future. Forcing yourself to exercise may get your body very tired and thus you will be sick again and this time in a lot worst condition. Never force body to do something when you’re sick.

It depends on how sick I feel. If I have something contagious I don't go to the gym since it's not nice to make all the others sick :D

So, if I am at home and still want to exercise it's good for me to realize how sick I really feel. If I have the flu for instance and can barely walk it's useless to push my body too much. I just rest and try to recover. The more I delay my recovery, the worse it gets. After I am already healthy, I can work out at ease

I think that no one should force their body to exercise when they are sick even when they are into a sport or those activities that requires you to move a lot. This can be bad for your health. You are going to prolonged the sickness.

I also think that anyone does not need to exercise when they are sick. They might force themselves and in the end, they could be much sicker than they used to be. This has been proven before; no one should force themselves to their limit if they are sick.

I would also try to exercise when feeling sick and it would only make it worse for some. Few times I almost fainted, not to mention the times I thought I'd just throw up right there. When my body tells me I shouldn't work out, then I listen. It's better to wait for few days and then train again, than to just exercise badly and feeling horrible.

I have asthma and I find that some forms of exercise don't work well for me. When I get breathless it makes me cough very badly and it is very uncomfortable. I have gradually worked out what works for me and I stick with that. If my breathing is very bad I still try to do plenty of walking

I avoid exercises when I'm sick. It may exacerbate your symptoms! You can actually exercise with a cold if your symptoms are above the neck, that's what I remember my trainer said. If you feel ok, you can can work out some lower intensity programs, at least until you get over the disease. After that, the usual stuff.

When I`m sick I just don`t do any exercises , I get rest , I avoid to make any efort , It`s better like that , after I`ll get better I can do exercises but not when I`m sick. My health is more important then exercises , I have time to do all the time.
