Default Have you ever thought you'd be able to look as a model?

If we were honest with ourselves (as least this is my case) a lot of us want to lose weight because we want to look better and in this case we do have a bit to work on it. I have to admit I would like to look better and since I am a guy with a nice face, I think I might be able to look like a model. Don't know if I'd pursue the career, but I want to look the best I can. Did this ever cross your mind?

Well, I am a vain woman. I do know I would look perfect if I got to my weight to my desired number. So, yes, I like to think I could be a model, but I think this is not somethig to happen anyway.I'd be happy to get to my desired weight and just enjoy my new life

actually, yeah. sometimes i look at my face and imagine if it'd be different without the weight, and i proportion my body to a smaller size to see if i might have something nice underneath it all. it's a good thing to keep you motivated, because you start to see all the possibilities and it keeps you hopeful. but you'll never really know until it's done. /:

"if the mind can concieve it you can achive it"

I used to have a poor body image and was out of shape... then i changed the way i looked at my body and started visualizing my goals and seeing myself as a fit, happy and healthy person and started to live the lifestyle as if it was already true... I decreased my body fat percentage from the "acceptable zone" to the "fitness zone" and then to the "athletic zone" I was amazed... i actually enjoyed the process too, which i think was key to long term result.

Then i decided to submit to my first modeling agency in San Francisco and actually got signed with them... I can't say that would have happened if i didn't accept that it was possible and start living the lifestyle i knew i was best for me.

PS. models come in all shapes and sizes now a days and i think the fashion industry is starting to change... I'm hoping it will change more and more because I would like to see healthy people looked up to instead of people with eating disordered... and healthy people come in all shapes and sizes too, not a one size fits all kinda deal, ya know?

Hope this helps someone!

Don't think about it. In fact, don't ever dreamed about it, unless you are really very serious about it. If you want to lose weight, it takes a lot of self discipline, persistence and perseverance.

I wouldn't be able to model because I am not photogenic at all. Probably not what agencies are looking for. I'm 6'4" with long arms and legs that don't fit into normal clothes. I'm fine with it.

Believe it or not, I never dream of becoming a model. I find some of those models anorexic, they probably starve themselves to look that way. Not sure why beauty is perceived in terms of how thin a woman can be but I guess that's the way it is. And this is not "sour grapes" talking. I have been overweight for a long time, I have managed to lose 40 lbs and I am happy with my current weight. I know it is still not the ideal weight but I am still not pushing myself towards that direction.

Well, over in my country, I was scouted to be a part time model.. Nothing really glamorous though. You got to make it big like Naomi Campbell before any bells actually ring.. But go ahead and try it out!

The important thing is don't try to be anybody else. Just be yourself. Be the best YOU, you can be. Visualize YOUR body the way you want it to look. Use an empowering photo to help you stay on track and keep you motivated. It really works! The mind is a very powerful tool!
